A New Village Rises, Broad Horizons Along the Gorge Xujiachong Village: Its Past, Present, and Future
From resettlement to new industries and greater prosperity, Xujiachong Village in Yichang, Hubei Province, has remained committed to protecting the Yangtze River. Traditional Qianhua embroidery, homestays and other emerging businesses have taken root, making ecological conservation an integral part of the village’s development.
Today, we visit Xujiachong, known as “the first village by the dam at the head of the Three Gorges Reservoir,” to discover its past, present and future.
