Chongqing's generator goes Arab
The frequent occurrence of extreme high temperatures has put energy security to the test. In many regions where power infrastructure remains inadequate, unstable electricity supply can bring construction, production, and daily life to a standstill, making generators a critical safeguard. In 2024, a Saudi client posed a challenge to Komar, a general machinery company: develop a generator set within 60 days that could withstand temperatures of 60°C, strong winds and sandstorms, and run continuously for more than 8 hours a day. Engineers ventured deep into the Taklimakan Desert in Xinjiang, conducting 70 hours of continuous testing, and ultimately rose to the challenge. This "desert generator," made in Chongqing, has successfully made its way to the Middle East.
