The Egyptian representative: The joint UNESCO World Heritage nomination by China and Egypt is progressing smoothly.

The 2025 Baiheliang Academic Seminar was held in Fuling, Chongqing. Experts and scholars from multiple countries including China, Egypt, Germany, Turkey, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on the protection of hydrological heritage, responses to climate change, and the joint application for UNESCO World Heritage status. Ahmed Rehema, Assistant Minister for Human Resources Affairs of Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, stated that both sides are actively advancing the process of jointly nominating the Baiheliang Hydrological Inscriptions and the Nileometer for UNESCO World Heritage listing.
